Return & Refund Policy

Clear, straightforward guidelines for equipment returns and cancellations.

At Iron Excavator, we are committed to delivering high-quality, commercial-grade machinery. Because heavy equipment logistics involve significant freight costs and rigorous quality control, we have strict guidelines in place regarding order cancellations, returns, and refunds.

🚫 Strict Non-Returnable Condition: Operated Machinery

Once a machine or attachment has been operated, fueled, or used, it CANNOT be returned.

We sell exclusively brand-new, zero-hour equipment. Once a machine is started and operated on a job site, it becomes a used piece of machinery. If you experience mechanical issues after operation, your purchase is fully protected under our 3-Year Parts Warranty, but the equipment is no longer eligible for a return.

30-Day Return Window (Unopened / Unused Items)

We offer a 30-day window for returns on completely unopened and unused items, starting from the date of delivery. To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must be in exactly the same condition that you received it (unused, unoperated, and un-fueled).
  • The item must be secured in its original crating and packaging.
  • You must have the original receipt, invoice, or proof of purchase.

Return Freight & Fees

Because we offer free outbound LTL shipping, please be aware that in the event of an elective return (buyer’s remorse or ordering the wrong size), the buyer is responsible for all return LTL freight costs. Return freight must be arranged to our Fort Collins, CO warehouse. Additionally, original outbound freight costs and a standard restocking fee may be deducted from your final refund amount to cover processing and warehouse handling.

Order Cancellations

We typically process and stage orders for freight pickup within 1–3 business days.

  • Before Shipment: If you cancel your order before it has been loaded onto the freight truck, we will issue a full 100% refund to your original payment method.
  • After Shipment: If the order has already left our Fort Collins facility, it cannot be canceled. You must receive the delivery and initiate a standard return. If you refuse delivery without documented damage, you will be responsible for the round-trip freight costs.

Damaged in Transit (Freight Policy)

We thoroughly inspect and securely crate every machine before it leaves our warehouse. However, damage can occasionally occur during heavy LTL transport. It is your responsibility to inspect the equipment upon delivery BEFORE signing the driver’s Bill of Lading (BOL).

  1. If you notice minor cosmetic damage (e.g., a scratched panel), note it clearly on the BOL before signing, take photos, and accept the delivery. Contact us immediately so we can send replacement parts.
  2. If the machine has sustained severe structural damage in transit, REFUSE THE DELIVERY, do not sign the BOL, take photos, and contact us immediately. We will handle the freight claim and dispatch a replacement unit.

Note: If you sign the BOL “free and clear” without noting damage, the freight carrier is released from liability, and we cannot file a damage claim on your behalf.

Refund Processing

Once your returned item is received at our warehouse and inspected by our mechanics to confirm it is completely unused and in its original crating, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 5 to 7 business days.
