Shipping & LTL Freight Policy

Reliable, Heavy-Duty Logistics from Our Warehouse to Your Job Site

At Iron Excavator, we specialize in moving heavy machinery efficiently. All of our equipment is securely crated and shipped directly from our warehouse located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Because our mini excavators exceed standard parcel weight limits, all orders are shipped via heavy commercial LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight.

🚛 Free Shipping & Free Lift-Gate Included

We provide Free Shipping to all customers within the lower 48 United States. Unlike many equipment dealers who upcharge for delivery services, we include a Free Lift-Gate Service on your delivery truck to ensure your machinery can be safely lowered to the ground at your residence or commercial job site, even if you do not have a forklift or loading dock.

Processing & Transit Times

We know that machinery uptime is critical. Our warehouse team works quickly to inspect, prep, and crate your machine so it is ready for the freight carrier as soon as possible.

Lower 48 States

Handling Time: 1–3 Business Days

Transit Time: 7–14 Business Days

Alaska & Hawaii

Handling Time: 1–3 Business Days

Transit Time: 14–21 Business Days

(Please note: Additional freight surcharges may apply for AK/HI deliveries depending on standard carrier routing).

How the LTL Delivery Process Works

  1. Order Preparation (1-3 Days): Your order is processed, the machine undergoes a final quality check, and it is secured to a custom shipping crate.
  2. Freight Dispatch: A commercial LTL carrier picks up your crate from our Fort Collins warehouse. You will receive an email with your PRO tracking number to monitor your machine’s journey.
  3. Delivery Appointment: Because this is a heavy freight delivery, the carrier will call you 24 hours in advance at the phone number provided at checkout to schedule a delivery window. Someone must be present to sign for the delivery.
  4. Arrival & Lift-Gate: The driver will arrive and use the included lift-gate to safely lower the crated machine to the ground at your designated address.

Receiving & Inspection (Crucial Step)

While we package our machines securely, damage during heavy freight transit can occasionally occur. You must inspect your delivery before signing the driver’s Bill of Lading (BOL).

  • Take a moment to visually inspect the crate and the machine for any signs of major transit damage.
  • If there is minor cosmetic damage, note it explicitly on the BOL before signing and accepting the delivery, then contact us.
  • If the machine has sustained severe structural damage, refuse the delivery, do not sign the BOL, and contact us immediately so we can file a freight claim and dispatch a replacement.
  • If you sign the BOL without noting damage, the carrier assumes the delivery was perfect, and we cannot file a damage claim on your behalf.
